How to activate Timeline profiles on Facebook

If you are a facebook user you will no doubt have come across users who have already received the new "Timeline" profile layout. This is something Facebook are slowly rolling out across the entire member-base, so sooner or later all users will get it.

You can however opt in to receive the new Timeline feature now and it will be available on your account right away.

The first thing you need to do is visit the Facebook page that introduces users to Timeline. From there you can view a video and read more about Timeline.
http://www.facebook.com/about/timeline

At the very bottom of that page there will be a section that tells you how many of your friends have already signed up for Timeline. There is also a Green Button that says "Get Timeline" if you click that it will enable Timeline on your Facebook profile.

At this point your Timeline is not public. Any friends who view your profile at this stage will still see your old style Facebook profile. You need to click the button at the top of your profile to Publish your Timeline. It is worth having a look through your Timeline first to see if there is anything you want to edit or indeed remove prior to publishing.

By default your Timeline will automatically publish in 7 days after you chose to "get it" By clickign "publish now" your new Timeline will go live streight away.

Mack.
